Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

When I was young many years ago, the three Rs – reading, "Writing" and "Rithmatic" was the mantra. There was even a little song about it, but I remember not.

While these remain important for Today's children is also important to teach the new "3 R" that many of us now live for others and the planet: reduce, reuse and recycle. "Of course, artisans and artists have done this for years.

Procurement of goods to make life easier or to purchase items they want instead of what one needs is a part of American culture. He taught me to save enough to buy special items, but have used credit cards to replace broken televisions and microwaves. Plastic (credit cards) are easy to use and the bill is 30 days later, if not how to spend the money immediately.

The consequences are felt by all in these difficult economic times. So far this year, nine million Americans have lost their jobs. (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics)

Here are some tips on how reduce, reuse and recycle:

Reduce
Cash use (No. of credit) on your purchases. Do not spend what you have or set up each week to buy a luxury product, so here is defined as something you want (For example, a gemstone jewelry made by hand for expensive earrings, a collection of DVD stories, etc.).

Go home, especially their closets and cupboards and get rid of clothing, household and other items that do not. This reduces the amount of disorder at home and you can donate items to needy families in creating a sense of goodwill. Also, you may be able to make a small tax deduction.

Reuse
Find a different way of using an object or give someone else can use. For example, many of us reuse the bags get plastic food stores and to bring lunch to work.

Go one step further and pick up plastic bags and bring them Jewel or other store that recycles them into other products.

I can re-use packets of biscuits, plastic inserts for storing small containers of accounts and coils of wire. Also, reuse the greeting cards that get cut from their support and make new cards.

Miles artists and people creative and talented are redirecting items and sell them on Etsy.com. It is saving our landfills and help create additional revenue for the artists and allow other individuals buy unique. See some of my plastic beads stored and used in my shop – Linda B.

Recycle:
Many of our communities and employers are already underway to recycle aluminum cans, plastic bottles and paper products white. To contribute to this effort to sort the trash.

There another effort to move away from buying bottled water in plastic that end up in landfills and the use of our own plastic water bottle. This means using water from our homes and / or places of work and memory to bring our own bottle. One of my water bottles and has a belt design is covered with bright yellow and black Batman.

Freecycle is as follows: The Freecycle Network ™ "comprises 4619 groups of six million members worldwide. It's a grassroots movement nonprofit and full of people giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns. "

How it works You will receive messages e-mail of what is available in other freecyclers and be able to identify and collect objects. For more information and to register in the metropolitan area, go to http://freecycle.org . I was able to pick up boxes of plastic beads and pearls, I'm upcycling Christmas gifts.

There are cities, schools and other institutions that have electronic recycling days old computers and monitors. Check your local newspaper for more details. Batteries phones printer cartridges and cell can be converted into a charity benefit or obtain credit for specific purchases. Staples has a recycling program and PetSmart has special envelopes for recycling printer cartridges.

Part of my system is not used to place objects in the garage. If I do not put questioned for nine months (ie ideal), I can donate to Goodwill or veteran organizations call me and pick up goods.

OK, I admit to be a PackRat and dispose of all items within nine months. In fact, this past weekend I went to the boxes in the garage. I have the intention to get rid of 3 boxes of items, but I took things back and only one box ready to go. There are certain things I is not willing to participate, that's fine. But still in the garage. This is the rule set. Once it enters the garage, unless I'm going to put the article in immediate use, must remain in the garage.

Today is Have a positive effect. Begin to reduce, reuse or recycle today.
